About

A veteran-owned plumbing company that moved to York County

We are new to Pennsylvania and not new to plumbing. Here is the honest version of who we are, why we came, and what you can hold us to.

Where we came from

South Florida to Glen Rock

Blue Tide Plumbing was founded by veterans in South Florida, and for years that is where we worked — Broward, Miami-Dade, and up the coast. We built the business on two ideas that are easy to say and harder to hold to: an honest price given up front, and no selling anybody something they did not need.

We have moved the company to Glen Rock, in southern York County. Not as a satellite office or a franchise territory — this is where we live and where the trucks start the day. Most of our work is inside a twenty-minute drive of here.

We are candid about the move because you will find it out anyway. The reviews on our reviews page are largely from Florida customers, and we have left them exactly as they are rather than starting from a blank slate and hoping you would not notice. Read them for the things that travel — whether we showed up when we said, whether the price held, whether we explained what we found.

Learning the county

Pennsylvania plumbing is a different animal

Florida plumbing is slab work, hard water, and salt. York County is none of those things. Here it is galvanized pipe closing up from the inside in the pre-war boroughs, clay sewer laterals full of tree roots, polybutylene in the late-seventies builds, and — outside the boroughs — private wells.

That last one matters more than anything else. Pennsylvania has over a million private water wells serving roughly three and a half million people, and no statewide standards governing how they were built. So a “no water” call here is a diagnosis, not a part swap, and we work it in order: breaker, pressure switch, tank, then pump. Pulling a submersible is the expensive last resort, not the opening guess.

We would rather tell you we are still learning a specific street than pretend we grew up on it.

What you can hold us to

The four things we say on every page

They are repeated across this site deliberately. Repetition is the only thing that makes a promise checkable.

A flat price in writing before work starts. Not a range. Not a clock that starts running while we diagnose.

No overtime charges. Two in the morning on a holiday costs what two in the afternoon costs.

If the job changes, we stop and re-quote. You get a new number to accept or decline. Nothing gets added to the bill quietly.

We show you what we found. The camera footage, the cut-out section of pipe, the inside of the tank. If we say it needed replacing, you get to look at it.

The paperwork

Licensed, insured, and easy to check

We are registered with the Commonwealth as a home improvement contractor — PA HIC #PA223376 — and that number is at the bottom of every page on this site and on every invoice we write. You can verify it yourself through the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s HIC registry, and you should, for us and for anybody else who quotes you.

We are fully insured. If you need a certificate of insurance sent to a property manager, a township, or a sewer authority before we start, ask and we will have it sent.

Give us a chance to earn the next review

The fastest way to find out whether any of the above is true is to give us something small to fix and watch how we handle it.
