Local knowledge
What we see in Jacobus
Jacobus is a tight little borough with a housing stock that mostly went up before anyone was thinking about how long galvanized pipe lasts. Lots are small, houses are close together, and a good number are twins or share a wall — which matters more for plumbing than people expect.
Where houses share a wall, they often share the age and the original installer, which means when one neighbour finds pinhole leaks or brown water first thing in the morning, it is worth the house next door paying attention. We have replaced supply lines in one half of a twin and been back for the other half inside a year more than once.
Sitting where it does — close enough to York to feel suburban, far enough out to be its own place — Jacobus also has properties on the edges running their own wells. If that is you, the diagnosis order is the same as everywhere: check the cheap things above ground before anyone talks about pulling a pump out of the ground.
